Railroadiana Shows

In many ways, the internet and our devices have made pursuing our hobby of collecting railroad memorabilia easier. E-Bay and sites like this one make it very easy to search for and pay for a wide variety of railroad paper without ever interacting with another person. There is: however, something special about being able to find an interesting piece, pick it up and thumb through it while talking about it and sharing stories with another person who shares your passion. One of the best ways to do that is at a Railroadiana Show. They are great venues to meet others face-to-face with similar interests.

Honestly, I have had an on and off association with railroad shows. That is because the vast majority of railroad shows (and there are many of them) these days are actually model train shows with an abundance of trains of all sizes, layouts, T-shirt guys and video guys with maybe one or two tables of Railroadiana. Nothing against them, it's just that my interest in modeling has waned over the years so it's not worth my time and money to go there.

The point of this page is to provide a nationwide exhaustive list of Railroad shows that feature Railroadiana which includes paper (timetables, rule books, manuals, etc), hardware (keys, locks, lanterns, signs, etc) and dining car china and silverware. These are all shows that I have participated in as a dealer or customer or have been recommended to me.

My hope for this page is to provide a resource for dealers who sell railroadiana and collectors. Hopefully, it will list shows that you don't know about. You can plan to go there as a special trip or you can add it on during a vacation or business trip.
